Beaufort County

BEAUFORT COUNTY - On October 25th, the Blounts Creek Volunteer Fire Department (Beaufort County Station 61) conducted a public safety educational exercise for an area church on the use of home fire sprinklers.

Two 8x8 units were built and set up on the church grounds. One unit contained a fire sprinkler which showed the audience how effective they are in a fire situation.

The second unit was not sprinkler protected and demonstrated to the crowd how fire grows and rapidly burns.

Both rooms contained smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.

The units will be reusable with minor touch up painting and repairs.
