HAMLET - Four families were displaced after an apartment fire at the Hamlet Housing Authority property on Wilmington Street on Tuesday morning at approximately 11:30 hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Damage was confined to four units. One unit received heavy damage.

Hamlet Fire Rescue was on scene for more than six hours overhauling and checking for hot spots.
