DALLAS - The Dallas Fire Department responded to a MVC at Trade and Dallas Stanley Highway involving a car and overturned tanker.

The collision occurred on December 21st. Dallas requested mutual aid from Gastonia to respond with their Haz-Mat Team. The Spencer Mountain Road Volunteer Fire Department was also requested.

The tanker truck was struck just to the rear of the driver’s door. After impact, the truck’s rear tires rolled over the hood of the car causing it to roll over onto its side. The rig then struck a power pole.

The tank began leaking fuel oil onto the ground.

The fire department contained the leaking oil while the Haz-Mat Team stopped the leak in the tanker.

The injured were transported to GMH. No serious injuries were reported.
