SALISBURY - The City of Salisbury has released the Salisbury Fire Department’s internal document on the Salisbury Millwork Post Incident Report. Two Salisbury firefighters died in the line of duty at this incident on March 7th, 2008. FireNews.net recommends all North Carolina firefighters read, discuss and learn from this important document.
The multiple alarm fire at Salisbury Millwork broke out just before work started for the day at the facility at 1820 South Martin Luther King Avenue. Killed were Firefighters Victor A. Isler, age 40, and Justin E. Monroe, age 19.
The purpose of the report was to investigate the fire and the actions of responding agencies so that in the future the best possible practices can be applied for the safety of firefighters, the community and the fire service as a whole.
The report was released in seven parts, with roughly ten pages in each part. The document was released on the City’s website as pdf documents.
