Fire at Commuter Transportation Facility

CARY - On Saturday morning, March 28, at about 5:50 a.m., fire units were dispatched to a vehicle fire at a commuter transportation facility near Raleigh-Durham International Airport.

Cary Engine 1 was first on scene at 5210 Nelson Road, and found a number of commercial busses fully involved in a large parking lot behind the structure.

Morrisville Ladder 2 was also dispatched, and the aerial tower was deployed to assist with suppression.

Cary Truck 7, and Cary Battalion 1 were also on scene.

Medical monitoring and rehab was provided by Cary EMS Medic 91 and Cary EMS District 5.

The fire was investigated by the Wake County Fire Marshal’s office.

As operations continued through shift change, “C” shift personnel were replaced with “A” shift personnel.
