Two Greensboro Firefighters Struck While Operating at MVC

Guilford County

GREENSBORO - Two Greensboro firefighters were injured early this morning after a 16-year-old girl drove her car into the scene of a wreck.

J.N. Harvey and L.D. Boone suffered minor injuries about 2:30 a.m. Sunday when they were struck by a car at the intersection of Creekridge and Randleman roads, according to a fire department press release.

The driver ignored emergency lights, road flares and police officers, the press release stated.

The driver made contact with another vehicle and kept going before she was stopped a short distance later, according to the fire department.

The firefighters were taken to Moses Cone Hospital.

Harvey was treated and released and returned to duty.

Boone was treated and released but did not return to duty. Both firefighters are expected to make a full recovery.

Other details about the incident were not immediately available Sunday morning.
