DESCRIPTION: Initially dispatched to an injured person trapped on a riverbank under a tree. Upon arrival found an app. 50 year old male laying on the riverbank 20 ft. down with a broken leg and unable to walk. Rescuers were lowered down along with a stokes basket. The patient was then stabilized and loaded into the basket. A 2:1 mechanical advantage was created and the patient was raised off of the bank. Patient was extracted in app. 30 min and turned over to EMS 71.
