CHARLOTTE - The Charlotte Fire Department along with Urban Area
Security Initiative Area HazMat Teams from Concord, Gastonia,
Monroe, Catawba County and Salisbury gathered last Wednesday at the
CSC railroad yard to learn how to respond to a potential
transportation emergency.
The Charlotte UASI area encompasses ten counties that surround
Mecklenburg and strives to provide opportunities for public safety
agencies to learn and train side by side. With the possibilities of
railroad transportation emergencies happening anywhere in our area,
Haz-Mat teams could be called on to assist across county lines.
