FRI JUL 07
SUBMITTED BY KERI WRIGHT, DENVER FIRE DEPARTMENT PIO COMM
DENVER - The Denver Fire Department,
which recently was able to win a tax rate increase, reaped the
benefits of additional personnel during the first week of
increased staffing. Starting July 1, two full-time firefighters
are at the station 24 hours a day.
At 0435, Denver and Pumpkin Center departments were dispatched to
a structure fire in the Denver Industrial Park. Engine 10 and
Ladder 10 arrived within three minutes. Units struck a second
alarm at 0445 adding East Lincoln to the assignment.
Five engines, one ladder and one rescue company were on scene with
twenty firefighters from three departments. Control was issued at
0457. Having personnel at the station was instrumental in
controlling and containing the fire so quickly.
