Mecklenburg County House Fire Displaces Twelve

MINT HILL - A family of twelve was displaced
after a fire significantly damaged their home on January 19th.
Firefighters from Mint Hill, Idlewild and Matthews responded. The
family escaped unharmed. Additional support responded from Hemby
Bridge (Union) and Charlotte. The Fire Marshal's Office is
investigating.

Live Burn Training to Ring in the New Year

SWAIN COUNTY - Qualla, Bryson City and
Cherokee firefighters conducted a live fire structural training
session for several firefighters on January 1. Safety Officers
ensured a safe operation for all concerned.

COLUMBUS COUNTY - Fire units from Loris, South Carolina responded to
assist Fair Bluff at a commercial building fire on January 22nd. The
alarm came in at 04:05 hours. Numerous calls for additional tankers
and manpower were required due to low water pressure on nearby
hydrants.
Units found a well involved storage room and attic fire on arrival.
After twenty minutes in offensive mode, Command ordered the troops
to withdraw. Eight Columbus County stations responded along with
five from Horry County, South Carolina.

Fire Displaces Two Adults and the Dog is Just
Fine!

CHARLOTTE - A citizen called 911 at 12:21 today to report smoke
pouring from a one-story duplex on South Turner Avenue. Firefighters
responded and quickly controlled the fire. A four-month old dog was
located during the search and was safely removed. Moscow got to wait
inside of Engine 5 during all of the excitement.
